Hospitality Industry Organization, Golden Rule Charity, Partners with Windsor Hospitality to Launch “Operation Resiliency” in Support of Those Still Impacted by COVID-19

December 1, 2020

Hospitality partnership mobilizes ahead of Giving Tuesday to deliver timely resources for hospitality employees facing unexpected hardship in light of the pandemic.

San Diego, CA, November 24, 2020 – Golden Rule Charity, a national organization uniquely focused on delivering resources to qualified hospitality employees in times of need, and Windsor Hospitality, a top-performing hotel development and hospitality management company, have formed a new fundraising partnership to continue responding to the extraordinary challenges of those impacted by COVID-19. Donations support the nonprofit’s grant program, which awards applicants who worked full- or part-time, have been employed in the industry a minimum of six months, and meet additional criteria.

According to the U.S. Travel Association, the Leisure & Hospitality industry, as prescribed by the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS), accounted for 11% of pre-pandemic employment in the United States, yet has suffered 36% of all job losses through September 2020.

In the same report, projections from Tourism Economics indicate that by the end of December 2020, 35% of total travel-supported jobs will have been lost, translating to a total loss of 5.5 million travel-supported jobs.

“Members of our hardworking hospitality family including employees of hotels, restaurants and bars have been facing dire circumstances since mid-March due to the enormous impact of COVID-19 on the industry nationwide,” says Paula Robison, CEO of Golden Rule Charity. “Partnering with Windsor Hospitality and their portfolio of hotel properties enables a new fundraising stream to provide targeted relief this holiday season. Those able to give financially will help us help those in an industry dedicated to serving us every day.”

Patrick Nesbitt, Jr, President of Windsor Hospitality explains a greater value in the partnership, “Golden Rule Charity has the unique ability to offer relief to those impacted in the same markets as our hotel properties.  Their mission closely aligns with our service-oriented approach both with guests and the industry.”

Tax-deductible donations can be made online at give.golden rule charity.org.
